Hello. How’s it going? Great. Did you read your horoscope this morning? No. What sign are you? I’m a Leo. Ooh! [Nabeel] See? I hate that.
[Natasha] Temper. I actually was going to come in here and say, horoscopes are real because [Kirbie] why do Geminis act like that?
[Jessica] Yes. Yes. Gemini, yeah! As a Gemini, watch it. I am someone who believes you are accountable for your own actions. My dad is an actual Indian astrologer. I was in a really bad relationship, and he was exactly right about why this person was not right. There are plenty of Gemini things that apply to me, and then there are a couple that don’t. And it’s margin of error. I take issue with people who take it too seriously. Who maybe won’t interact with other kinds of people based on their sign. It comes from a place where people want to connect with other people. They want their best chance at falling in love. Maybe the person that’s really into astrology is like, “Okay, I don’t even want to waste my time.” They’re fun, but I don’t think they’re legit. I’ve known all of the astrological signs of everyone in my life, and can use it against them at any point in time. I mean, that’s troubling. It’s nice to know, sometimes, that I have a temper because Mercury is probably aspecting on my Jupiter, which is in the ninth house of temper. [Nabeel] You can’t believe that that’s true.
[Natasha] And so, I’m angry. No, there’s no way you actually think that that’s true. All horoscopes are broad enough that anybody reading them could be like, “Yeah, that’s me.” My boyfriend is a Leo. Once I learned about his chart and how he operates, I feel like a better partner, almost. In Indian astrology, it’s based on your date of birth, your place of birth, and your time of birth. I just don’t— I don’t see how that affects your character. Well, yeah. Sure it does. The worst thing to happen to astrology isCosmo. “You’re gross because of this.” I feel like Mercury’s always in retrograde, by the way. That’s the most frustrating thing I hear. It’s a self-discovery tool. For me, when I was younger, I felt like it gave me something to look forward to. I’m a Capricorn, and I’m supposed to work hard. It’s like a little finger-prick for yourself. It’s focusing on positive attributes and that sort of … [Kelsey] Big picture. Yeah.
[Thomas] Big picture stuff. Yeah. For the fun twist, you will make a point for the other team now. Which I already was kind of doing. It is comforting to be like, “Hey, I am this way because of this.” At the end of the day, it makes you feel a little bit better that there’s a reason for why you are great or awful. Life has so many factors to it. Your environment, the way you were brought up. So, that’s probably more of a determining factor of why you are the way you are. I do believe that the time of year you were born, especially in those crucial early months, does make a difference. I don’t think that each sign is specifically designed to be too different from one another. I don’t think that everything in the universe is completely random. I think things in the sky do affect things on Earth. If a belief system that involves lots of stories and mythology and all of that works for you, of course astrology is maybe not going to seem as grounded or legitimate. Because it doesn’t coalesce with what you have been taught. We might have to respectfully agree to disagree. You know what? No. I don’t … I don’t have a back-up plan. Okay, great. I love talking to you about this. Yeah. This was great. And I’d like to re-emphasize, my personal sign does not affect my dating ability. I think we can both agree on being self-aware people. Self-awareness? Self-awareness is what it’s about, baby. In 2019? Ooh.
